    Saturday July 15 | 16:00 – 17:00 | Veranda, The Galmont Hotel

Panel on Neurodiversity in the Screen Industry, Co-Sponsored by Screen Ireland and UCC Film Department

It is estimated that 4% of the Irish population is neurodiverse, and that 20-30% of the creative industries are neurodivergent, it is estimated, as many do not realise they are neurodivergent.

This panel will discuss the importance of a new unique short course for the screen industry on neurodiversity which was piloted by ACE at UCC and Screen Ireland in March 2022, why it’s important, and why now in particular. There is no course like this anywhere else in the world, that is built specifically for the industry by a neurodivergent creative and that is university accredited. There has been massive interest in this course with queries coming in from media organisations across Europe and the United Kingdom. For once in Ireland, we are the innovators and the first.

Panelists: Host – Eleanor McSherry (Scriptwriter, Lecturer, Programme Designer/Coordinator ACE@UCC) Trevor Ó Clochartaigh (Director of Operations & HR at TG4), Grainne Bennett (Screen Ireland, Skills Development Executive Creativity & Creative Collaboration), Lindsay Sedgwick (Author, Screenwriter, Creative Consultant) and Katarzyna Mazur (Build & 2 D rigging artist, comic maker, animator, character designer).

This is a free event. Registration is required
