The Marketplace at the Galway Film Fair takes place during the Galway Film Fleadh and co-ordinates pre-scheduled meetings between filmmakers with projects in development (and/or completed films) and invited Film Financiers, Distributors, Sales Agents, Broadcasters, Film Funds and Major Producers. A pre-selected group of producers with feature films, documentary and animation projects will have the opportunity to meet with representatives of these companies.
The Marketplace’s unique selling points:
-
Transatlantic Bridge
-
Access to the world’s leading financiers
-
Showcasing new European and International cinema to leading Film Buyers, Distributors and Festival Programmers
Alongside the Marketplace, many other industry events take place at the Galway Film Fair including conferences, seminars, masterclasses, debates, workshops and much more.
To participate in the Marketplace at the Galway Film Fair, applicants must have either a project in development or a completed film. Applicants should note that priority will be given to projects which have a percentage of development and/or production finance in place.
The Galway Film Fair, in association with Bankside Films, are once again delighted to announce a €3,000 award for the best project at this year’s Marketplace. The award is voted on by the attending marketplace industry professionals. Bankside is a leading international sales and film finance company for independent films.
“The Fleadh has become an important international co-production hub. That is one reason why Galway’s co-production market, the Film Fair, has become such a key networking event”
– Screen International
“I attend the Fleadh regularly because I’m always finding a new filmmaker, project or producer that shows real promise to deliver on the international stage. It’s an extraordinarily useful, efficient platform to help identify what’s coming down the road and it’s a bridge for us to the greater European film community, especially those talents who have yet to be recognised.”
