Galway Film Fleadh is a weeklong international film festival held each July in Galway, Ireland. Now in its 32nd year, the central goal of the Galway Film Fleadh remains unchanged: to be a platform for the boldest new films and to bring audiences and filmmakers from around the world together to share in the wonder of cinema.
We welcome a wonderful diversity of filmmaking from all around the world, crossing all generations and cultural backgrounds. We bring luminaries of the craft and everyday cinephiles together to celebrate a shared passion for film.
Founded in 1989, Galway Film Fleadh has always showcased Irish filmmakers by exhibiting their work to their peers. The Irish film industry and the Galway Film Fleadh have grown in tandem with one another as the industry has continued to win international admiration for its work. In addition to our features programme, shorts programme, masterclasses and talks, we also host the Galway Film Marketplace, Film Forum and the Junior Film Fleadh. The Galway Film Fair is the UK and Ireland’s first dedicated film market and industry conference running alongside the Festival. The Junior Galway Film Fleadh is an annual film festival for young adults.
