In the first narrative feature directed by a Nicaraguan woman, Director Laura Baumeister introduces us to 11-year-old Maria, who lives on the edge of a rubbish dump with her mother in Nicaragua. After her mother disappears, Maria is forced to survive on her own, leading her on a journey to freedom.
