Directing “in conversation” with Mark Cousins

Saturday, 24 July 2021, 14.00

Irish-Scottish filmmaker Mark Cousins will take part in an “in conversation” event hosted by Irish editor and director Declan McGrath. Cousins’ documentaries are boldly unafraid to push boundaries in both content and form. He is currently chair of the Belfast Film Festival and his films include Women Make Film: A New Road Movie Through Cinema and What Is This Film Called Love? Cousins’ new documentary The Story of Looking is in the 2021 Fleadh programme, a personal film which explores the significance of vision as Cousins undergoes eye surgery.

Cousins will discuss this latest film with host Declan McGrath, who has directed recent feature documentaries Lomax in Éirinn and A Woman’s Place.
