The Galway Film Fair Marketplace runs alongside the Galway Film Fleadh, offering pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings between filmmakers and key industry figures, including:

  • Film Financiers & Investors
  • Distributors & Sales Agents
  • Broadcasters & Film Funds
  • Major Producers & Film Festivals

Selected producers with feature films or television series projects will have the opportunity to pitch to these industry leaders, opening doors to funding, distribution, and co-production opportunities.

The Marketplace’s unique selling points:

  • Transatlantic Bridge – Connecting European and North American film industries for cross-border collaborations.
  • Direct Access to the World’s Leading Financiers – Meet the decision-makers who shape international film financing.
  • Showcasing New Talent – Presenting the best in emerging European and international cinema to buyers and festival programmers.

The Galway Film Fair also hosts conferences, seminars, masterclasses, and industry networking events, making it a key hub for global film professionals

To participate in the Marketplace at the Galway Film Fair, applicants must have either a project in development or a completed film. Applicants should note that priority will be given to projects which have a percentage of development and/or production finance in place.

A €3000 development fund for the Best Marketplace Project is awarded annually by Bankside Films. There are also prizes for Best Documentary Project sponsored by Impronta Films and Audience Design sponsored by Síle Culley Audience Design.

“The Fleadh has become an important international co-production hub. That is one reason why Galway’s co-production market, the Film Fair, has become such a key networking event”
– Screen International

“I attend the Fleadh regularly because I’m always finding a new filmmaker, project or producer that shows real promise to deliver on the international stage. It’s an extraordinarily useful, efficient platform to help identify what’s coming down the road and it’s a bridge for us to the greater European film community, especially those talents who have yet to be recognised.”
– Eamonn Bowles, Magnify Pictures
