Gaeilge & Fáilte
At the Fleadh, the Irish language is part of how we connect with our audience and support our filmmakers. Our role at the Fleadh is to champion Irish storytelling and that includes Scannáin Gaeilge. Each year, we premiere Irish language features and shorts, and that offering is growing year by year. Through GENERATION Fleadh, we run an educational programme for schools and work with young filmmakers and bring their Irish language work to the screen. We promote Irish as a living language, not just something learned in school. The Galway Film Fair connects Irish talent with the global industry. We offer a service in Irish and speak it whenever we can. It helps us stand out and makes international guests aware of the language’s importance in Galway. Irish is a living part of the Fleadh and of Galway. We’re proud to support the language on screen, off screen, and everywhere in between.

Tá lúcháir orainn a fhógairt gur roghnaíodh Fleadh Scannán na Gaillimhe do ghearrliosta Ghradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh, gradam mór le rá do ghnóthaí dátheangacha i nGaillimh.
Is mór an onóir dúinn é go bhfuilimid i measc na n-ainmnithe ar an ngearrliosta i mbliana agus muid ar fad ag léiriú gur féidir úsáid a bhaint as an nGaeilge in earnáil ar bith!
We are proud to share that the Galway Film Fleadh has been selected as a finalist for Gradam Sheosaimh Uí Ógartaigh, Galway’s prestigious bilingual business award.
We are honoured to be included among this year’s finalists, highlighting that the Irish language can be seamlessly integrated across all sectors!
