EFA Young Audience Film Day

Generation Fleadh is hosting the European Film Academy Young Audience Film Day this November! 

Here’s how it works: A film will be shown simultaneously in 30+ cinemas across Europe. After the screening, discussions about the film will take place in cinemas throughout Europe, led by local moderators. This event provides young viewers with a special chance to watch compelling films and engage in discussions, which encourages cultural exchange and critical thinking among the future enthusiasts of European cinema. 

There will be a screening of the 2023 Generation jury award-winning film SCRAPPER, followed by a live stream Q&A session from Lucerne, Switzerland hosted by young people from European Film Club. 

A highlight of the day is the reveal of the three nominated films for this year’s European Young Audience Award and everyone attending will have the chance to apply to join the jury of 99 young people to choose the winning film. This event is your chance to watch a great film, exchange ideas, and connect with young minds from around Europe. Let’s come together and celebrate our cinema culture! 

Schedule: 

11:30 – Arrive 

12:00 – Introduction & Film Workshop 

13:00 – Screening of SCRAPPER + post-show discussion 

16:00 – END 

Please note, this initiative is specifically tailored for young audiences aged 12 to 19. 

EFA Young Audience Film Day will take place on Sunday, November 3rd in Pálás Cinema, Galway from 11:30 – 16:00.
