Submissions Open for XR Projects

For the first time, Galway Film Fleadh invites submissions of VR and Mixed Reality Experiences to be presented as part of its annual Immersive programme in 2026. Curated with the Centre for Creative Technologies at the University of Galway, selected projects will be exhibited for an audience comprised of the general public and industry professionals at the Galway Film Fleadh and its industry market, the Galway Film Fair.

Past projects include Sit Stand Smoke (Curtin/Keating 2024) and Mammary Mountain (Alvarez/Baker/Mooney 2024).

The call is open to XR creations in virtual reality and mixed reality, including interactive works and real-time narratives. Experiences must be playable on Meta Quest 2 or 3 and should be submitted as a 360º video file (.mp4) or .apk file.

Details of exhibition requirements should be submitted along with the entry (spatial requirements etc).

We accept works in progress, however all works must be finalised for presentation at Galway Film Fleadh 2026

Closing date for submissions is May 15th, 2026. Entry Fee : €25
