SUPER8/Film Workshop

This workshop on film archive and preservation by Julien from Super8 Ireland & Super8 Shots Film Festival and Postdoctoral researcher Carolann Madden (Maynooth University, Women in Focus) will be an opportunity for attendants to not only learn about the preservation of moving images and our film heritage, what it entails to work with film today, but also to get hands on demonstration of 8mm, Super8 and 16mm cine film equipment (from cameras and reels to viewers, rewinds & splicers). 

Screening of some short Super8 and 16mm film material will also help demonstrate the intrinsic beauty of film. The workshop will be followed by a discussion around archiving, preservation, and the value of working with film today.
