This documentary film explores the stunning natural beauty and cultural history of the Graney Valley, known locally as “Killarney of Clare”, its unique biodiversity, mythology, ancient sites, emigration, traditional agricultural practices, placenames, and poetry, including the famous Irish poem “Cúirt an Mheán Oíche”, written by Brian Merriman on the shores of Loch Gréine.
The film is a call to action, and a heart-warming record of a deep love shared by people for this incredibly special place. The film includes stunning aerial photography combined with magical shots of rare native Irish plants, and features the music of the internationally renowned Irish fiddle player Martin Hayes, who hails from the Graney valley.
