Expression of Interest Open for Childminding Service at Galway Film Fair 2026

National Talent Academies Crew West, in partnership with Raising Films Ireland and the Galway Film Fair, is pleased to continue the Childminding Service at the Galway Film in 2026.

Following the successful introduction of the service in 2025, this initiative forms part of a shared commitment to building a more inclusive, sustainable, and accessible screen industry in Ireland. We recognise the barriers parents and carers face when participating in industry events and festivals, and this service aims to support their full and equal participation in the creative community. The Galway Film Fair is a valued delivery partner in supporting the implementation of this initiative. 

Programme Objectives

Accessibility
To reduce childcare-related barriers to participation in the Galway Fair for parents and carers working in or engaging with the screen industry.

Inclusivity
To foster a welcoming and supportive environment that recognises and accommodates diverse caregiving responsibilities.

Wellbeing & Sustainability
To contribute to a healthier, more balanced industry by supporting professionals with caring responsibilities and helping to retain talent across all levels of the sector.

• Short-Term Childminding
  Flexible care options during key fair hours to support attendance at meetings.
• Qualified Professionals
  Care delivered by trained, vetted childminders in a safe and engaging environment.
• Central Location
  A childminding space located conveniently close to main festival venues.
• Age-Appropriate Activities
  A programme of engaging, screen-free activities designed to support children in a nurturing setting.
• Subsidised Costs
  As part of this initiative, efforts will be made to keep costs minimal or free for participants, subject to demand and available funding.
