Irish filmmaker and artist Yvonne McDevitt brings her experimental and unique visual storytelling to the big screen with Trumpets. On the anniversary of her son’s death, Magda, a Polish immigrant in Ireland, returns from Italy to Donegal, where an unexpected encounter with a Rwandan refugee reveals their shared experience of displacement in a rapidly changing country. A journey of discovery between two very different people who find a bond within their shared trauma.
