Based loosely on the filmmaker’s real-life friends, Rolling Papers is a funny, warm and entertaining “hangout movie” in the grand tradition of 90s filmmakers like Richard Linklater and Kevin Smith, complete with stoner energy and a colourful cast of characters. Sebastian, working as a store clerk, finds his ordinary workday shaken up when he befriends Silo, a free-spirited wanderer. Together they ramble through parties, make friends, fall in love, and dream of moving to Brazil to live a carefree life.
