Oscar Boyson’s Sundance hit is an incisive look at the widening class divide in US society. Balthazar (Jaeden Martell), a wealthy New York teenager, tries to win over his activist crush by travelling to Texas to stop a would-be mass shooter, Solomon (Asa Butterfield), a misguided young man from a very different world. A skilful mix of tender, unsettling and hugely empathetic, this audacious comedy-drama is a terrific debut from an exciting new voice in American cinema.
