In the 1970s, Diane Jobson made a name for herself as Bob Marley’s lawyer, converting to Rastafarianism under his influence. After his death, she dedicated her career to defending Jamaica’s poorest communities. Now 80, the fiercely stubborn attorney still works without a computer, taking handwritten notes and helping clients facing police violence and murder charges. Blending humour and profundity, the film ultimately celebrates a woman who has lived entirely on her own terms.
