In this practical Masterclass, two of Ireland’s leading lighting gaffers Barry Conroy and James McGuire will demonstrate the latest lighting tools supplied by Teach Solais/MBS Equipment Ireland, that they both use making films and TV shows. 

James McGuire is originally from Dublin where; after pursuing a formal education in electrical engineering, he entered the film industry and has since spent 35 years as a highly skilled and accomplished lighting professional. His portfolio includes everything from small-scale independent films to large-scale blockbusters and recent TV series including Leonard and Hungry Paul, and The Rainmaker.  

Throughout his extensive career in the Irish industry, Barry Conroy has had the pleasure of working on a diverse range of high-profile productions, from TV Series Wednesday and Foundation, to the award-winning indie features of Yorgos Lanthimos including The Lobster.
