Terry Loane brings to life Marilyn Taylor’s beloved, award-winning young adult novel, Faraway Home, which tells the gripping true story of two young Jewish children who are sent by their parents from Nazi-occupied Austria, via the Kindertransport, to Millisle refugee farm in Northern Ireland, smack in the middle of its own troubles. Thousands of miles from their parents, they begin to adjust to Irish farm life and create a found family of their own among their fellow refugees and hosts. However, when German bombs hit Belfast in the 1941 Blitz, the war is brought back to their doorstep. A sharply observed tale of resilience and heroism when ordinary people are faced with extraordinary circumstances.
