Dean Conway’s debut feature, Conversations in Bed, is a fully improvised chamber piece which takes place over two separate days in the life of a young man – through languid mornings in bed with two different girls, years apart. The first day takes place in the summer before his final year of school, and the second, years later, in the university area of Belfast. Working without a script, the three lead actors bring a level of intimacy and authenticity to the film and their characters.
