Four close friends, who bonded while fighting in WWII, have finally established themselves as renowned and respected filmmakers working in post-war Communist Yugoslavia. When their sexual orientation raises suspicion, a communist party loyalist, Emir, is assigned to sabotage their careers and lives. Their pursuit of freedom becomes a fight for survival for the artists, and Emir’s beliefs are challenged as he witnesses the horror and degradation unfolding under the regime.
