All About The Money

Fresh from its debut at Sundance, Irish filmmaker Sinead O’Shea (A Mother Brings Her Son To Be Shot, Blue Road: The Edna O’Brien Story) thoughtfully explores the complexities of wealth and power. Fergie Chambers is the son of one of the wealthiest families in the United States and has grown to despise the capitalist system in which he was raised. He wants to end inequality and destroy that system, leading to a complex and sometimes unbelievable journey as he recruits drifters and outsiders to help him achieve his dream of building a communist collective in rural Massachusetts. But what happens when people’s lives are dependent on the whims of the wealthy, and what happens when they’re left behind? Interrogative and non-judgmental, O’Shea creates a rich tapestry that explores the inevitability of inequality when wealth is so unevenly distributed.
