Filmed over three and a half years on the front lines of the Russian-Ukrainian war, this visceral and often brutal documentary follows a young Ukrainian filmmaker who trades his camera for a rifle and joins the Territorial Defence Forces. An ordinary civilian with a filmmaker’s eye, thrust into extraordinary violence, he documents his transformation from storyteller to soldier – capturing fear, loss, and resilience, while preserving rare moments of humanity in the chaos of war.
