The Junior Galway Film Fleadh, in association with the National Network of Young Irish Film Makers & Animators is delighted to present a FREE Filmmaking Workshop (Making a Short Film on Your Smartphone) with Robert Fitzhugh from The Dublin Smartphone Film Festival. It takes place on Saturday 10^th December from 12 to 4pm in the O’Donoghue Centre, University of Galway followed by a screening of the short.

Working from a prepared script this hands-on workshop will include a step-by-step breakdown of the filmmaking process from script to editing and will be followed by a screening of the short film. Participants will come away armed with new skills and know-how.

To take part you will need a smartphone and to have downloaded some free software called CapCut.

About Dublin Smartphone Film Festival

The Dublin Smartphone Film Festival is more than a festival. For the last 5 years it has worked to try and make filmmaking more accessible to everyone. Expensive equipment shouldn’t be a barrier to creativity so through education DSFF have helped thousands of students to take their first steps into the world of filmmaking. DSFF focus on filmmaking as a whole process giving students the fundamentals but with technology they have at their fingertips.
