Screen Ireland, in partnership with Screen Producers Ireland, will host a special virtual networking event at the Galway Film Fleadh on Wednesday, 21st July at 12pm, to meet the 2020/2021 Spotlight Scheme participants.

Spotlight is Screen Ireland’s flagship screenwriting talent scheme launched in 2019, with a strong emphasis on diversity and discovering fresh new voices. Spotlight’s aim is to showcase Ireland’s brightest new talent in screenwriting. Over the past year, the participants have been supported throughout the development process of their screenplay with script editors, mentorship, and industry training with Screen Skills Ireland and Screen Skillnet. Via this event and the Spotlight digital showcase, Screen Ireland and Screen Producers Ireland are hoping to facilitate strong new connections between leading Irish producers and up and coming talent.

The networking event will take the form of 5-10 minute one-to-one sessions, where producers will have the opportunity to meet these new and emerging screenwriters, selected by Screen Ireland, and discuss their projects.
