X-Pollinator are thrilled to host a panel at the Galway Film Fleadh with one of Ireland’s most exciting female led and emerging production companies, Pale Rebel. After winning Best Film and Best Debut Feature at the Galway Film Fleadh 2020 for their feature debut REDEMPTION OF A ROGUE and the Irish premiere of the SXSW-winning IT IS IN US ALL at this year’s festival – we will sit down with creative producers Emma Foley and Tamryn Reinecke for a discussion on how they got started, what challenges and successes they have faced, how they select projects for their slate, and their strategy for festivals, sales and distribution. The panel will be moderated by Dearbhla Regan.

Pale Rebel Production was established in 2018 by creative producers Emma Foley and Tamryn Reinecke.

Hitting the ground running, after only a year of working within the film industry, Pale Rebel produced their first feature, Philip Doherty’s REDEMPTION OF A ROGUE – a dark comedy set in rural Ireland. The micro budget film went on to win Best Film and Best Debut Feature at the 2020 Galway Film Fleadh, where both were also nominated for the Bingham Ray New Talent Award. The film has gone on to win numerous awards and travel to reputable festivals including Palm Springs International Film Festival and Glasgow Film Festival. The film had a theatrical release in Ireland/UK and can currently be found on Netflix. The film can also now be seen on VOD across North America and will be released later this year in Australia/New Zealand.

Pale Rebel’s second feature, Antonia Campbell-Hughes debut IT IS IN US ALL starring award winning actor Cosmo Jarvis, premiered at SXSW in March 2022 – winning a Special Jury Award for Cinematic Vision. Pale Rebel have also recently produced shorts SUCKING DIESEL by Sam McGrath (DIFF 2022) and SCREAMER by Ciarán Maginn (Galway Film Fleadh 2022).
