“A gentle protest against social conformity and a treat for literary viewers.” — WF
On a remote island off the coast of Maine, Liv, having never spoken, begins to weave a language out of Shakespeare’s words. A driven neurologist, brought to the island to protect her independence, commits her to a psychiatric hospital. She becomes a full-blown rebel; her increasing violence threatens to keep her locked up for life as she fights for her voice and for her freedom.
At a time when the world is at a tipping point regarding women’s voices, The Sounding champions them.
