Nineteen-year-old Mercedes is drifting rather aimlessly through life. She has one big dream, to go to the legendary electronic music festival Heimat. There, she is not only searching for friendships and life-changing experiences, she also wants to meet Boy, a DJ that she has been chatting with on Facebook. Her journey takes an ominous turn when a festival employee offers her a ubiquitous happy pills. Mercedes has to confront the sinister forces at work beneath the surface of this seemingly utopian world. She has to fight not only for her freedom, but also for her identity.
Please note that, unlike previously advertised, director Steffen Köhn will not be in attendance.
“Steffen Köhn takes you down the rabbit hole of his expertly crafted festival experience so that before you realise it, you’re circling the inferno in this terrific debut.” — WF
