A terrific old-fashioned western, starring Emilie Hirsch and John Cusack. Shot in Connemara, this is a tense movie set on the infamous California Trail during the 1849 gold rush, where anything can happen and loyalties spin like the barrel of a gun.
Irish carpenter and undertaker Patrick Tate lives with his young family on the outskirts of a small frontier town. It’s a tough but relatively peaceful place, until outlaw Dutch Gold and his gang take over, killing anyone who stands up to them. Patrick plays a dangerous game, profiting from the outlaws’ mayhem, but it is only a matter of time before he must protect his own from the bloodshed.
