Panel Discussion featuring Irish Filmmakers and Film Festivals Chaired by IFI International | Followed by Q&A and Networking
Invitees: Irish Festivals, International Festivals, Filmmakers, Screen Ireland, Industry
IFI International returns to the Galway Film Fleadh to discuss the programming of Irish film through international channels and to create a space where filmmakers, programmers and organisers of film festivals can meet. With contributions from filmmakers and programmers who have availed of the extensive services of IFI International this session will discuss common goals and challenges and available supports for international exhibition of Irish film. Filmmakers will learn how to channel work into the international cultural network while programmers will share news of recent successes and seek solutions to problems encountered.
Thanks to Druid Theatre for hosting the event.
IFI International is the Irish film programming service for international exhibitors which brings more than 250 Irish films to over 41,000 people at 118 events in 46 countries each year. Drawing on the collections of the IFI Irish Film Archive and elsewhere, and liaising with directors, producers and distributors, IFI International provides access for cultural exhibitors to new and classic Irish cinema.
The IFI is supported by the Arts Council. IFI International is funded by Culture Ireland.
