More and more film producers are connecting directly with their audiences by releasing their own films and thus bypassing the traditional gatekeepers of the industry. Similarly, audiences are now far more active in their pursuit of content and in their method of viewing this content. This ‘do-it-yourselves’ mode of film distribution in what has become a consumer-led, multi-platform environment, poses many interesting questions.
