Galway Film Fleadh set to screen award winning Irish Film “Garage”

Following its successful premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, the Galway Film Fleadh is delighted to announce that it will screen the award winning Irish film Garage. The film will be screened at 9pm in the Town Hall on Saturday 14, July.

Garage comes straight to Galway following its screening at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival where it won the prestigious CICAE Art and Essai Cinema Prize.

The film is a tragic comedy which stars Pat Shortt and is set in the world of petrol stations where the owner of the garage searches for intimacy during the course of a life changing summer.  Garage tells the story of Josie, the misfit caretaker of a crumbling petrol station in rural Ireland who finds his life changed forever over the course of the summer.
