The Junior Galway Film Fleadh creates annually a programme of screenings and workshops which are enlightening, educational and entertaining for young people.
The Junior Galway Film Fleadh (JGFF) caters for young people as a distinctive cinema going audience by encouraging them to become involved in film through screenings, workshops and other related activities (eg script competition), Annually, the JGFF devises and produces a programme which is enlightening, educational and entertaining.
The JGFF introduces youth audiences to non main-stream cinema and helps develop in them a critical awareness of film. The JGFF also aims to educate young people in the art of storytelling through the media of film and video production by facilitating the making of films by schools and youth groups. In conjunction with this the JGFF runs an outreach programme of workshops in Galway City and County. Teacher and parental involvement is encouraged through seminars, media and educational packs.
