If your local airline doesn’t land in either of those airports, Dublin Airport is only a little bit further (215km/133 miles) away and connected to Galway via motorway.
Citylink and GoBus operate regular express services between Dublin and Galway, including early mornings and late night.
Bus Eireann operate services to Galway nationwide. This website includes a very useful search feature to assist in your journey schedule.
Transport for Ireland operate a nationwide route planner if you need further assistance.
Check with the national rail carrier, Irish Rail, for up to date timetable and departure information.
Trains to Galway from Dublin are frequent with a regular train service from Heuston Station to Ceannt Station, which is located in the city centre just off Eyre Square.
It is also possible to get trains from Cork and Belfast, but you will have to change. It is not possible to get a train from Shannon Airport, but you can get a bus to Limerick city and get a train from there.
